Default Str gain or Size??

well i've been lifting for a couple months now and gained alot. But it seems i'm not gaining anymore. I used the beginner str and intermediate str by Mark.

I'm a puny 117 lbs and i was wondering if i should go for size or str?

Also the lower bottom inner of my chest doesn't seem to form, i know the chest grows as a whole but is there any exercise you can suggest for this??

You've stopped gaining strength or mass?

My guess is that your diet sucks or you dropped the ball somewhere in the program. Post your diet and what you did for the program and we'll go from there.

Besides diet my first thought is that doing beginner AND intermediate "for a couple of months" makes no sense at all. If you stopped progressing that quickly on the beginner program then you didn't run it right, or you didn't eat right, sleep right, who knows.

If you were then able to start progressing again on an intermediate template it is because the weekly format at first allowed a little more recovery. But the would be short lived if correct habits weren't conformed to.

So, what it sounds like is that your hitting the wall has been eminent from the beginning.

I would stick with strength. Post everything like Kane said and get a SOLID lifestyle plan in place. Then I would go for the beginner again and see if you can run it better.

ok so when i wake up in the morning i have

-morning- 1 cup of oatmeal, yogurt, banana

-lunch- what ever school has

-come home right after school- Cup of oatmeal mixed with milk and 1 scoop of whey weight gainer 22oo.

-workout-

-post workout- 2 cans of tuna mixed with strawberr yogurty, 1 banana, protein shake

-dinner- 4-5 bowls of white rice and what ever my mom cooks

(bc i'm asian..)

-night- go down and have another 1-2 bowls..

I've been eating like that for the last couple of months and made some good gains. But now my weight gain is starting to slow down. So i was wondering if i should switch programs and switch back to it after a while..

Nope. That's not much detail but basically it's not very much food. I know it probalby seems like a lot, but.....

You need much more protein in the morning. Lots of other stuff. Personally I hate talking about people's diets so I'll let others do that. But swithing programs is what everybody starting out does and mostly what it amounts to is a whole lot of "programs" and very little progress.

Look, the truth is that for many people it's the behaviour outside the gym that is the hardest to do and the most responsible for lack of progress. Some people do some pretty horrible and inappropriate routines but you were doing great ones. It's not the programs. Believe me.

Eric's right. It's not the program it's the food. You seem to eat healthy, but not enough.

First - morning - you have a good base there, but you have to add some protein. Eggs would be the best choice for morning since they are a fast diegesting protein and your body needs it right away.

Second - snack- A lot of people that go to school tend to use shakes, they are a good source of calories (protein, carbs and fats). Quick and easy.

Lunch - Relying on the school to give you what you need may not be the best thing.I can't say this forsure, so give us some examples of what your school has to offer. You might want to start bringing your own lunch.

So after school you eat again (I don't know how much time has passed) then you work out. Try having something that's not so heavy and will not take so long to diegest. ie: rice and tuna. Your still going to want to wait 1hr before working out.

Right after your workout you should pound back a some protein and carbs( with water) to feed your muscles...very important; some say you have a 1/2 hr window. But personally I do this within minutes if not during my last set.

Then come home and have your rice with whatever (protein) your mom cooks up.

Befor bed do what your doing with the rice, but have some protein in their to. Some people don't like to have carbs before bed, buy your only 117lbs (height ???) and you said you wanted to gain weight.

Some people (Kane) have been known to wait up in the middle of the night and pound back another shake. Not a bad idea if your waking up to go the washroom. I wouldn't suggest setting your alarm or anything since sleep is very important for growth aswell.

These are only suggestions....One thing is forsure your not eating enough now....Good luck

I see it all the time--people beating themselves up in the gym and not seeing results. They don't understand that hitting the weights hard is only a small part of growing or even cutting down. I could train the same all year round and get big or get ripped just by eating different and taking different supplements"

Well there you go .....I bet we could add few more names to this list as well...I use to do it as well, when I was sitting around the 200lbs mark and needed something to push me over the edge.....(I only wrote his name down, because I remember seeing it in one of his posts..I forget what he called it, but he had a good name for it..)
