| Rank: Lightweight Experience: > 1 Year | Well Wolf does have a point there. A guy who is most likely a beginner has no place doing an advanced bodybuilding program. He should be focusing on bringing up his big 3 by 100lbs each and then see what size he's put on. Anyways, that guys looks very very good for 40 and especially if he really is all natural. He is very accomplished but it is also good to mention that what works for him won't work for everyone. He is obviously more advanced and being of a very different age even makes a big difference too. A novice lifter shouldn't focus on "inner chest development" or "bicep peak" or anything like that. Just focus on getting strong and everything will get bigger. *edit* Some bad spelling in there...lol *edit* IronWorker Last edited by iron_worker; 06-19-2008 at 09:20 AM. |

infact, this is why i even had my rant.. i asked him for his weight and height, he gave the reply, then gymrat said Quote:

plus, what gymrat suggested is not new....these type of variations are known by a lot of people. however, if you tell a gullible beginner to start doing more chest work by using an incline variation, when instead he should be focussing on his squats, deadlifts and bench press, you are misleading him. this is irresponsible behavior and that is why i got annoyed.

this is not about whether the 40 year old dude has credibility or not. this is about posting something wrong and misleading and having the gullible OP lap it up because he knows no better and then end up making him run around in circles. i don't care if rat boy took it on a personal level or not...we were not discussing the effectiveness of the incline ez bar press. we are discussing the importance of exercise selection in general for the OP who weighs 155 lbs. the OP needs to eat more, focus more on his big 3 and see what happens. he is at the stage where strength = size more or less so he must take advantage of that. you missed the point of my rant. it was regarding new people to the sport being mislead by knowledge yet mis-informed other people.

You are completely missing the point anuj. You brought raley's credibility into question, and I corrected you. You went on a rant about newbs, and mis-information, and thats fine. But there are much more constructive ways to get your point across, just look at what drallen posted, I'm sure eric and sleazy didnt rant and flame him, but he now understands that the chest is one muscle that grows as such. You need to relax, and understand we are all still learning, you of all people should know this.
