Question Wtf?!

I did a biceps workout today. I did alternating dumbbell curls, then when i couldnt do anymore, did hammer curls to force a few more reps out. I am right handed, so when doing dumbell curls, my left arm begins to fade before my right. But when i went to hammers, my left was more consistent and stronger than my right . I felt my left arm about to quit during curls, and then my right hand about to quit on hammers. What's the deal behind this?

Your training your bi's to failure, and they have thier own day?

That aside, different grips have different effects on the supporting muscles. Hammers incorperate much less shoulder movement then palm up grip, so on and so fourth.

Bad idea.

Read some of the stickies my friend. What you can bicep curl is very irrelevant if you want to get big.

could be neural connections or the muscles in each arm. hammer curls for forearms, biceps curls for... biceps, right?

my bet would be it was a mental thing.

hammer curls are not for forearms, they barely work the forearms.

when i do hammer curls they work my forearms plenty. most strongmen do hammer curls for forearms as well. DC Training has hammer curls as a forearms exercise too. but, from my experience, hammer curls hit my forearms very heavily if done right.

IMO bicep work sucks. IMO they dont equate to helping you get a whole lot stronger. i think working them are cool but they should be more of an elective type execrsice unless you are trying to be a bodybuilder to tough. i think you would be ok. with a couple sets of incline curls, iso curls, and hammers.

i read whta i typed and i wanted to say thta i dont necessarily think it sucks, but i think they are better for your look more so than anything. i do think thye help. but i feel as though you can progress on all your big lifts without doing a single curls. all in all they are aight, but overrated IMO
