here's my progress for the day:

Deadlift: 110,120, 130x3
Chin Ups: 6, 3, 2
Pull Ups: 1, 1, 1 (I'm really having a hard time with these although at least I can do 1 per set now. Unfortunately there are no power bands here in my country to help me out with my pull ups)
Squats: 110x5
Military Press: 75x4 80x1 (I tried increasing the load on the military press, had a hard time lifting and was only able to do 3 reps, I've been stuck on 75lbs for 2 weeks now. Hopefully by next week I'd progress on this)

Overall, my day was ok, was more energetic today than Monday. Felt more anxious to lift today. Today is my 27th day in the gym

I thought you were doing 5x5?

Kevsworld 03-23-2011 05:06 AM

5x5 is a good system, but you may need to tweak it just a little. As the others have said, you could experiment with higher rep ranges. Or you may want to try some slightly different variations on it. I've posted an article about that recently:

You also need to be sure you are deloading every once in a while. About every 6-8 weeks you should be cutting back on the weight and volume. Cut back to about 60% of the weight you normally use. This will seem very easy, but that's the point--to give your body a rest.

Just keep eating and lifting really hard. It might feel like you've hit a plateau, but just keep pushing yourself.

thanks for the encouragement and replies guys :) I've gone back to the gym this week. Last week instead of deloading my brother told me to take the week off from the gym, anyway this week I was finally able to lift 125lbs for my heavy day. First time :)

@kevsworld I noticed your location is Manila, Philippines. Are you here? since I am from the Philippines hehe
