Default After 5x5 then what?

I've done 5x5 2 years ago but didn't take strength training so seriously back then hence I went on a plateau and then i stopped going to the gym.

Well 4 weeks ago I went back to the gym this time with a more determined state. My starting weight was 57kg and now I weight 61kg my target is 75-80.

Now what I'm wondering is what program is next for me after 5x5? My brother's doing Wendler's 5-3-1 program for powerlifiting and strength. But as for me I'd like to enhance my strength and power endurance.

What would you guys recommand? My brother told me to try out either GVT or Westside for Skinny Bastards. What would you guys recommend?

I forgot to add, I'm a fencer and that is one reason why I'd like to increase my endurance in strength and power

What's wrong with the 5x5 ?

If it's working and your making gains then why not stay with it ?

oh there's nothing wrong with it. It's just that I'm wondering when my program ends what would be next to do? I mean I can't keep doing 5x5 forever right? sorry for the misunderstanding

I don't see why you have to change it if it's working.

If you have done this for 8 weeks ( just estimating ) and you feel like your still making progress then you should take a week and redo your 5RM and recalculate your lifts , then start over again . This time you will be lifting heavier weight.

Make sense ?

Unless you are board with the program , which I can't see if your making gains

If you are bored with this routine why not try doing a higher rep routine say 12-15 reps on every exercise.Try this for say 2 months then go back to 5x5.
When people do a heavy routine for 2-3 months,I think it is a good idea to do a lighter routine for a while to give your muscle's a break from the heavy stuff.

Thank you all for the reply. I'll be on my 8th week tomorrow,

My weight's changed from 57 kg(january 17) to 66 kg(at present)..but lately I've been stalling in weight gain. Any suggestions on how to improve on this?

As for my progress here it is:

the record is from January 17(the day i started gym) up to the present

Bench: 30lbs-120lbs
Squats: 30lbs-110lbs
Barbell Row: 20lbs-100lbs
Deadlift: 20lbs-120lbs
Military Press: 30lbs-75lbs

I feel like I'm about to plateau on all exercises. By next month I'd be switching from 5x5 to Jim Wendler's 5-3-1. What do you guys think?

You still have lots of room for improvement. I think the 5x5 could work just fine for you. Eat big and go hard.
