Anyone do any functional power training?

I just got a book on power training by mens health. It's suppost to be a more functional workout for more strength that can be used doing day to day stuff, and more compound vs isolated exercises. I'm jus wondering if anyone else out there have tried such a workout and if they liked it?

are you asking if anyone has tried power lifting before?

Kinda sounds like strong man style training. Training to be able to lift/carry/throw objects which aren't necessarily a barbell (as in real life lol).

I would be interested in trying it one day, however, I have not tried it yet.

so that way you don't have to call a tow truck, you can just pull your car yourself

Is it Dos Remedios's book "Men's Health Power Training"?

Yes that's it. And no I didn't mean has anyone done any power training, I meant functional power training. I did a workout yesterday, it was a little ruff, but I like it so far. I basically wanted a more athletic workout because I have a pretty active lifestyle.

Yes I know. It's the same idea, the functional part just basically means the exercises that are picked and put into a workout are basically put together with more life application, or functionality in mind. So in other words making you stronger doing things in life than just in he gym.
