Breathing During Deadlifts
How do you all control your breathing during deadlift sets?
During a set of 5, I find that I am more effective if I hold my breath throughout the duration of the entire set. I can lift more, keep my focus better, and when I take individual breaths for each rep I tend to get light headed towards the end of the set which can break my concentration and make me tired. Most people teach to take a deep breath before each rep. Is there anything incorrect or dangerous about doing it my way?
I find myself holding my breath on certain exercises. It hasn't hurt me in any way. I feel the same way when I breath sometimes, light headed. If you get the set done before you pass out, do it....
Depends if you do a "touch and go" method or if you actually completely deload the weight every rep.
With touch and go you are probably better off to hold your breath since there is no time to take a full breath.
If you completely deload I would recommend taking a new breath each rep.
The reason for keep breathing is to avoid to hurt your diaphgram.
