Default Cardio--what days?

What days do you guys do your cardio? Right now I know I need to hit it pretty good, because I'm a bit thick around the middle, and really no where else. I've always had a good metabolism, but my diet has been somewhat remiss. Also, I drink too much. Not tons, but too much to maintain the healthy body I want. So I figure with the right diet, no drinking and cardio, I'll be ripping off the fat in no time.

Well your right, fixing the diet (CKD would be good) and getting rid of the alochol will help alot. I do my cardio on my non lifting days and if it is a day I lift you don't want to do it in the same workout. So I lift in the am then I do cardio in the pm.
There is always one day a week I will absoultly do nothing.

Diet is of course most important. Do you weightlift? Maybe show what your schedule looks like and I can help you. FYI, cardio can either be performed on your rest days from resistance training, or 6-8 hours before/after hitting the weights.

Question Question

I agree with just about everything I read on here, but I have a question:

Is there a loss of gains by doing your cardio right after you lift?

Because I box, I'm used to doing a lot of cardio type movements through out my week. I sometimes will go to the gym, lift, and do my cardio right after I lift (except on LEG DAYS! NO DAMN WAY!)

I can't really tell if I'm losing gains because of it, since you can't really gauge what you've lost if you never had it. (I think that makes sense)

I have noticed one thing, if I work arms and then do cardio on a stepper or a tredmill, the pump I had in my arms dissapears mighty damn quick. Even if I'm loaded with creatine. Hmmm...I may have just answered my own question. Still...due to time restraints, I'm probably going to do some of my cardio right after work outs. I have the type of body that can put on fat and muscle very quickly. (The muscle part I don't mind so much ) and if I don't keep my cardio up (like 3 or 4 times a day) I put on fat around the waist.

Any tips or advice would be appreciated.

im not sure about the exact reason but i know for me if i get through a good workout and then try and go and do cardio i wont be able to run nearly as well as i would have if i didnt lift

whenever i do cardio i dont do it for a long time as in like 40 minutes or somethin like that i usually run like 20 minutes but at an incline and a speed thats fast for me (got this idea for the max ot cardio thing sounded like it would work to me and i think a few others here use this too)

i think i read something about cardio for long periods of time over 20 mins or over half hour starts to eat at muscle

yea something like that i think when i read the max ot thing they compared the workout of a sprinter (muscular generally) and a long distance runner (not nearly as muscular generally) and thats what they based it on as in with short running workouts u wont lose as much muscle mass oppose to a long distance runners 7 8 mile workouts. Im not sure if thats exactly the story but i remeber something like that
