Check out my Eating Regimine!!!!

Tell me what ya think!

1 day 50g carbs (dry source....oatmeal, yams, green veggies)
2 days NO CARBS
1 day 50g carbs
2 days NO CARBS

and so on....

Only been dieting like this for 5 weeks......Pre-Contest
Water is no less than a gallon a day....
Take Thermo's (ephedra free) Amino Acids, Fatty Acids (b/c I don't eat much fish outside Tuna :( ), Multi vitamins, 3,000mg Vit C, zinc, and Vit A

Protein comes from Isopure low carb, Optimum 100% Whey, Optimum Anabolic Milk, Egg whites, tuna chunk light (low sodium), Chicken, Chicken, Chicken......

Protein intake is no less than 150g/day........Some longer days for me I will break my "5" meals into "7" for the day.....Just to spread my meals out more.....

I do cardio 6days/week on empty stomach first thing......45 min. 75% VO2Max

Second Cardio session is following weight training 5x/week 30 min.

No carb days are killin me......in 10 days I have to eat straight chicken, cut all the sodium sources.......I'll be on here a lot!!!!!

..no/low carbs...

I'm with you that no carb days are brutal to get through. Do you think maybe having a few healthy carbs first thing after you finish your morning cardio (on the empty stomach) might actually be beneficial? Anybody else care to comment on that?

I realize you are training for a competition, but I'm just concered about that few of carbs in your system for so long. A friend of mine that was training for a competition went crazy with no carbs 5 days a week, 3 weeks out from her comp. She was suntanning at 2 different places and taking diueretics. She ended up waking up in a hospital bed 1 week out. It seems that walking on her way to one of her tanning appointments, she just completely colapsed and was out for aprox. a half hour before a pedestrian finally called an ambulance. She had to drop out of her comp. The next comp she trained in, she just had her healthy carbs early in the morning and cut them out throughout the day. That way she wasn't killin' herself, but she was restricting them enough to still cut the fat and water she wanted.

You know your body better than I do, I'm just watchin' out for a fellow builder's health.

Take care :D

Sngle_chck,

The only thing I didn't see on your list (like Taurus pointed out) is EFA's. Something like Flax or Fish oils, will help you out trememdously. One thing is with a lower carb to no carb diet, is that hair can start to dry out and fall out! You can start having the same problems with your skin, as it will dry out and start flaking.

Taking 2 caps of Fish/flax with your Protein meals making them P + F meals will help get the metabolism kicking again as well.

If you are feeling a little lethargic raise your carbs on weight training workout days, and keep the aerobic days very low to zero carbs like you've been doing. Just add in the EFA's and you will notice a difference!

I used to compete in BB shows a little over 10years ago and the only thing that has changed a little bit, is the nutritional aspect of contest preperation.
The way that you are doing it is the same as I did back in the day! It's not bad at all, it's just there are more less painless ways to reach your goal without having to suffer.

I'm getting in some pretty good shape right now and depending on how I look a month from now, I may dust off the posing trunks and enter a BB show! So, I feel your pain with this diet, as I'm dieting down too! Take care and good luck!

Are you getting pre and post workout shakes?

[QUOTE=Snachito]Sngle_chck,

I thought she said she takes fatty acids, what else could it be other than EFA's?? I doubt someone will chug down a cup of oil. :D

sngle_chck 04-26-2005 07:52 PM

Sorry all,
Yes, my "fatty acids" are EFA's.....Haha, haven't gotten the lingo yet....

I have already been thinking bout next competiion and how I'll do differentely. Consistency is key I know, so I figured, finish strong, take it as a growing experience...Right? Well, I did the whole eat Very clean, no carb restricting, but all good low GI carbs, none after 6 (unless post workout) and moderated cardio. Fat just melted off me then,........Definetely believe that the whole 2 days no carbs deal was too dramatic, b/c then I had to work harder cardio wise and my bod still wasn't lettin go of fat. BF loss went down fast b/c of strictness. Well, 3 weeks left, well see how it goes.

I would just stick to the isopure and drop the 100% whey because it's concentrate. Whey isolate has less impurities like fat, lactose, ect. It doesn't matter that much, but every little detail will help. ;)

sngle_chck 04-26-2005 08:10 PM

Thanks 0311!
I like the Isopure way more anyways!
I was using what was left of the Optimum Whey... That's gone Thank Goodness!

sngle_chck 04-27-2005 06:43 PM

Taurus-

I should get the oil then, instead? I really don't care bout taste or anything....I put the tbsp of glutamine right in my mouth and I chew multi's.... Can't be much worse..... I have 2.5 weeks left pre-contest.

Thanks for the tips.....totally cool!

apocalypse 05-08-2005 09:34 PM

Or she can just buy the fish oil powder from bulk and use that, its cheaper than buying the oil in a bottle. :D Talking about cost effectiveness, saving 2 or 3 dollars per week doesnt do much for me, considering that I make more money than u Taurus :D

Darkhorse 05-09-2005 05:14 AM

Wouldn't that taste horrible? She should cap it, right?

verbatimreturned 05-09-2005 06:09 AM

do u have to refridgerate fish oil yea right?

Darkhorse 05-09-2005 06:26 AM

A billion chinese people can't be wrong :)

Darkhorse 05-09-2005 06:50 AM

I didn't know you were asian, calm down. I was talking about the fish oil...You know...Every asian I saw when I was actually over there was buying it in bulk. Plus, right after the Marines I took a job with Homeland Security at LAX and had to scan United Airlines bags. They were almost always asian because over half the flights went to Asia. Every bag alarmed for an possible IED because every one had a giant jar of fish oil pills.

In light of all this, "A billion chinese people can't be wrong (about fish oil)" :)

DISCLAIMER: This has nothing directly correlated to anyone with asian blood, eyes, ect...Just a general population statement.

apocalypse 05-10-2005 12:35 PM

I dont know if u have ever noticed Taurus. Some of the food packages say Refrigerate after Opening.

Darkhorse 05-10-2005 05:38 PM

Wouldn't it be easier to get the capsules?

verbatimreturned 05-11-2005 01:14 AM

i heard they werent as nearly as affective  has anyone else heard this or were my sources bad?

apocalypse 05-11-2005 09:31 AM

I prefer the capsules, dont think I am a pussey cat or something, but fish oil doesnt taste very pleasant, let alone the fishy burps. :D

Darkhorse 05-11-2005 05:16 PM

When it comes to fish oil, I'm sure capsules are just as effective. If not, fish oil ain't no miracle supplement anyways.

apocalypse 05-11-2005 06:30 PM

Saying fish oil caps are not as effective as the one in a bottle is just like saying coke inside a 2 liter bottle is not as good as the one in a can. :D
