EMS ab belts. Do they work?

I am interested in hearing if anyone can share thier results with me regarding EMS ab belts.
Do they work or are they a waste of money?
Thanks.

ie; Flex belt, Coutour belt, Slendertone etc...

Anyone? Hello?

It is basically machine that works muscles through electric stimulation.

It works to get movement your muscles, but it isn't something that is going to burn fat, make you have abs, or even make you stronger.

They are generally a waste of money if that is your purpose but they can be good for recovering from injuries or sore muscles.

Well if it contracts your ab muscles...

I understand you won't loose fat but if it contracts your ab muscles like your doing crunches that will define your abs right?
-Thanks for your reply.

It Depends. Theoretically, you'll get faster results if you set it higher, but it will be pretty uncomfortable. You should build up your tolerance. But there is more to toning your abs than this.

Holy crap it does work!

I got the Slendertone EMS Belt today and tried it.
It does work! It contracts your abs bigtime and I only had it on 1/2 intensity.

They "work" in the sense that they are capable of making your abs contract. But there are far better ways to strengthen the abdominal muscles, and ab training is not very relevant for having visible abs--that's primarily related to body fat levels.

Tru dat...

I understand that is the case. There is no magic pill
or easy way out. Lot's of hard work(outs) and disipline.
