I love the Arnold book! It's very helpful for beginners to learn how the muscles work, without getting hyper-technical. Although I don't plan on becoming a competitive bodybuilder, all of the other sections have been very valuable to me. I refer to it often.

0311.....I was getting ready to post a thread to ask about the lower portion of the pecks that tie into the upper abs......I want clear seperation.....more rounding on the lower portion....I currently have that gradual tie in and I hate it. I will definitely try some of these to see if they help out.

0311,

Am I sent you a private message but you have not responded. I am trying to understand this "muscle building". Am I correct in saying to do that you need to warm up at about 50% of your max for 10-15 reps, then do that again but may be a little faster. Then go up to about 70% of your max and do 1 set of 6-8 reps, move up to 80% of max doing 1 set of 3-4 reps, then go to 90% of max with 1 set of 1-2 reps. Complete the set by doing your max press 1 rep as many times as possible which will probably only be about 1-3 reps. This is what I understood you to say on another post. The actual "muscle building" is taking place on the last 2 sets. Is this correct.
