Forearm Splints

Hey guys,

When im doing EZ bar bicep curls i get a shooting pain in my forearm above my elbow. It also hurts when im releasing the bar to put it back down. When doing the curl its the part of the forearm thats facing away from my body.
This has been an on and off problem for a few months now. Its always just been while ive been doing curls or picking up heavier weights (ie for DB bench press). But now since working arms on Saturday theres been a dull constant pain in both of my forearms. And doing general activities during the day can be painful (ie. tighting belt, pushing doors open). Ive been to my doctor and he just said it was just technique, but I know my technique is good.
I was wondering if anyone knows what casues the problem and how to get rid of it??

Cheers

I've experienced something similar but it was when I was doing preacher curls with an ez bar. I think I actually pinched a nerve in my elbow on the bench. I got a shooting pain in my forearm and my pinky finger didn't feel quite right for a month.

My solution: Don't do preacher curls anymore.

Does it happen when the back of your elbow is touching something or just when there is weight on it?

It was only when a weight got placed on it, but now theres a constant dull pain and its been that way for nearly 5 days now :s

Well try and take a few days off upper and rest it.

Not sure about ice or heat but maybe someone else can chime in on that.

tendons

If it's where I'm thinking, it's actually your tendon/legiment assocaited with your tricep. I too have had this pain. I think I initially got my from benching or doing cleans, but they say you shouldn't do any exercises where your triceps are stretched during your lift (skull crusher, overhead extensions, etc.). I've also found that joint supplements helped me out as this was nagging me for about a month prior to jumping on Animal Flex. That got rid of the pain for me.

I have this before too as well. Ice and a couple days a week or two off from the gym have always helped.
