Help for school paper

Hello.

I am a new member and my name is John. Altough I am an athlete I am not either a bodybuilder or powerlifter . I would like to answer questions in the forum but with my current knowledge unfortunatly I can only ask. I would be happy even if people directed me to right places for research but getting answers from you guys would be the ultimate obviously.

Here is the question put plain and simple that I need to dig for an high school paper:

If a bodybuilder of lets say 4 years who achived a good amount of mascularity. Stops lifting weights forever. But still takes his weight in grams of protein and good nutrition, would his body go back to its starting point.

Thanks a lot guys.

You could probably apply lamarcks theory of disuse. If you are an athlete then what happens when you stop training but keep eating the same?

So the question is whether you can maintain muslce through diet alone. The answer is absolutely not. Use it or lose it. Muscle is energy expensive tissue. It is not a good form of energy storage for the body so it will be ditched in favor of more efficient means of energy dymamics no matter what and how much you eat.
