Long time no see!
Hello friends :) hope you still remember me :)
so it's 2 or 3 months without being here, and I missed the board. Had a sudden accident in my family and although I continued training I didn't update with what was going on with me. sooo.. back to business. was thinking about doing texas-rippetoe/eric's again. how about this set-up? mon: 5x5 reg squat 5x5 bench 5x5 T bar wed: front squat 3x3 press 5x5 hyperextensions 2-3x6-8 chins to failure (3 sets) fri: 1 set of 5 rep's - bench 1 set of 5 rep's - squat 5 sets of 3 reps - power clean (deadlift is killing me and I really want to do power cleans this time). going to eat lots of proteins, and get 300 calories above maintenance per day. I'd like to mention that the last time I was doing the "texas method" I did everything exactly like I was supposed to, but my bench simply didn't improve and it was dissapointing for me. |
Looks good...just out of curiosity, why only 3X3 for front squats?
|
I'm guessing to keep the volume down cause its probably light anyways. Probably just a "maintenance" squat in the middle of the week more for keeping limber and whatnot.
Just my guess. IronWorker |

i would advise you to do more variations of the same exercise, actually.

ohh guys :(
today I did intensity day, but I felt sooo fucking bad. I think I'm going to wait 3 weeks until I'm done with anatomy course since it's putting too much stress on me. I can't even stand for 50 seconds with a barbell on my back. sorry for opening an irrelevant thread... you can delete it now. will be back. btw sentinel - can you elaborate? i thought this routine is very well rounded and even as mr. rippetoe himself write it (just changed deadlift with power-cleans) |
