I tried it for years, it left me with a 130lb bench a 140lb Smith squat and a 200lb deadlift.Numbers that a small 14yr old girl would not have trouble with.So I would say stay away from Mentzers version of HIT.I do agree high intensity training is the absolute best way to get strong,I just disagree with Mentzers idea if intensity. There is many ways to incorporate low volume high intensity training.Mentzers is not one of them LOL.No one needs 2 weeks between workouts, not anyone.

That reminds me I gotta sell all my HIT books on ebay someday and buy some more 45lb plates, something I should have done years ago!!

well he does make pretty good points in his book."high intensity training the mike mentzer way". Ive tried volume training but it didnt work out for me. i got no where and i made no gains in muscle. i took to long training. ive started his program. this is my first week. and i i could say is that i trained with high intensity and its breath taking. the effort i put on that set is immense. for my leg work out ive been sore since wednesday, and its saturday today. but if the stress and intensity is so high.i think i will unable to heal without juicing. i think imma have to reduce the intensity. but lets see how it turns out

Thats the thing, it all sounds so logical and appealing Mike really could sell it, he was a master salesman for sure.

sure there might be some flaws in his HIT training as we all have observed but i think he was trying to revolutionize the way we would train like he said"more is better when it comes to economics, the more money the better". but this does not apply for weighttraining, more is always better. what im trying to say is that if its recommended to do 15-20 for a particular muscle why not 40-50 sets if more is better.MM TRAINING, I BELIEVE IS A NEW APPROACH TO THE WAY WE CAN TRAIN, BUT IN ORDER TO FULLY EXPLAIN OR UNDERSTAND HIS THEORY OF TRAINING WE MUST UNDERSTAND WERE HE MIGHT OF GONE WRONG. i GUESS IMMA LOOK INTO HIS THEORY.IMM GOING TO PUT HIT INTO PLAY AND SEE HOW IT TURNS OUT.

Mike Mentzer training is retarded. It's been beaten to death on bb.com with 1000000000000000000000000s of studies and the like being posted.

I can sell you anything. With a little thought and time I can come up with some VERY convincing sounding stuff that is complete bullshit. I can say it is all science and make it sound like science. That's the thing about pseudo-science..it doesn't always SOUND like pseudo-science.

Once upon a time I read and implemented training that had it's foundations in Mentzer's views and I'll admit it sounded perfectly convincing to me. But I DID NOT KNOW SHIT back then.

If you act sanctimonious I will just list out your logical fallacies until you get pissed off and spew blasphemous remarks.
