On & off-season?

What is the meaning of On & off-season? What do people do on the On-season & off-season?

TALO 09-27-2007 11:19 AM

Off season is higher calories to put on some good size (muscle/fat)

ON - would be keeping your calories(clean low fat foods) lower to lose as much bf as you can while maintaining as much muscle as you can.

Do people still do weight lifting in off-season or not?

TALO 09-27-2007 11:55 AM

Ya man, off season is the best time for growth. Realisticly if your taking in more food and gaining weight, then you should be able to lift more weight. So go heavy!!!

Once you start dieting down, your strenght may decrease as your calories and food consumtion comes down. It depends on the type of diet you do as well.

If your not a proffessional athlete or BB're the whole idea of having seasons is a little silly to me.

I never see any of the non-professional guys (natural) who subscribe to this ever look like they are ready to hit the stage. Either there very fat or a little fat but they're always somewhat fat. Since you can be somewhat fat and grow very well, but if you're too fat you won't put on as much muscle, having seasons is just a good way to torture yourself, imho.

^^^^ agree with that!!! but he did ask.

No doubt, TALO dude I just thought I'd throw that out there.

Well, IMO the "seasons" have more to do with cycles and diet than anything else. Prof BB'ers will run thier agressive mass building cycles with huge amounts of calories in the "off" season. They will look bloated, and fat, and do very little cardio. In the "on" season they will run lots of cutting agents, and get into contest shape so they can step on stage looking freaky.
