Default Powerblock or similar dumbell system

Hi,

Does anyone use/own a pair of powerblocks or anything like it? What do you think of them? I'm getting sick of changing the weights on/off my dumbells and wasn't sure if anything like the powerblocks were any good. Thanks.

i've got a set that goes up in ten pound increments...from 10-50 pounds...it's got 2 2.5 pound adder weights inside the handle so you can adjust by that too...kinda nice.

but whenever i put it on the scale...it never matches up to what it's supposed to be it is a lot easier though...

It's a nice option for home workouts but they can be awkward as your start using more and more weight. I'd go to a local retailer and try them out before you buy them just to make sure you like them. I personally don't like Powerblocks because of their block design (alot of people love them though) and prefer something like ProBells because they are more like a regular dumbbell. Just keep in mind if your serious about working out you can quickly outgrow the 50 lbs or whatever most of these base sets go up to.

I agree with Sleazy 100%. I hate the power blocks. Some of the other adjustable dumbbell sets aren't bad, but I would only use them for curls or...curls. You'll outgrow them pretty quickly if you stick with it. If you find them super cheap or if you're filthy rich, then go for it!

Thanks for the input. I'll figure out exactly what weights I am commonly using and price out dumbells in just those weights and see how that compares to the powerblocks.
