I agree with Hrdgain. Your endurance should go up (which will help with the compounds in the gym) and your metabolism should be elevated throughout the day (reduce bodyfat).

Good luck and let us know how it works out for you.

My brother does that, but he tries to do as many as he can before the water fills back up in the toilet/ when the toilet stops making noise. try it, and see if you can beat the amount you did last time.

Ok, so since posting this thread, I have upped the number to 15 pushups per bathroom break. I also started counting the minutes between breaks, and it averages about 40 mins.

By the end of the day, I am hurtin' on the last 3, but could probably up it to 20 by next week!

chinpiecedave...thats not a bad idea, although the toilets at my work are the quick flushers...wouldn't get more than 10 in at best:(

I have noticed that my waistline has shrunk ever so slightly...but again, it could be due to a number of recently changed variables.

Thanks to all for their support, I DO feel my bathroom break pushups are benefiting me, so i will continue to do them, and gradually increase in reps. If not for any noticable physical benefit, I feel good for doing the pushups, and since no one has outright objected to them, I shall continue.

Doin push ups on the bathroom floor? Yuck!
I hope you put down paper 1st. ;)
I would make sure you give your arms and shoulders a break like at least every other day so they can repair the micro-tares in the muscle fibers.

Yeah. Like any other lifting or strenious exorsize you want to give your muscles a day off at least to "heal" them selves.
Taking creatine will aid in "healing" muscle fibers.
Check out the (Supliments) section there are a lot of supliments that will aid in every aspect of body building and fitness.

funny you suggest the creatine Pete, because the creaform creatine mono I ordered just came yesterday and Im starting it today, ironic huh?

thanks for the info and suggestions, I take all responses seriously. as for the bathroom floor, it is pretty much my own bathroom at work, plus I made a couple of pads to put my knuckles on...my wrists were hurting after doing pushups palms down...love the knuckle form.

you can also get some pushup bars. they help with not getting your wrist all messed up (happened to me plenty of times bu not once since i got the bars) and you can also get deeper reps with them

monster, I am seriously considering the bars. Didn't even think about a deeper rep though--another reason to get them.

just have to keep the bars out of view from the boss, haha!

(side note, my worktable is perfectly spaced from the bench against the wall, creating a great dip station...Im not going to start that too though, I'd get fired, haha, just am loving working out!)

I do this too. Push ups, Dips, and squats a few times a day in my office. I feel it keeps my overall fitness level up, as well as energy level. Its a great way to "wake up" when your feel yourself falling asleep at your desk.

I do take days off from this when I need to recover from a hard day at the gym. But overall it doesn't really affect my recovery.
