Quite a bit of questions
I worked out on and off, inconsistently, last year. However, a little more than 2 and a half months ago I decided to really become dedicated. Since then I have gone to the gym no less than 3 and no more than 4 times a week doing a chest/tri, back/bi, shoulder/leg split.
I have gained 10 pounds in the 2 and a half months I have been working out and have had decent gains in my lifts. My question is, after working out for 2 and a half months, should i take a week off completely from the gym and let my body rest or just take a light week like working out with %60 of the weight i usually do Also I read on here you should switch your routine up every 3-6 weeks Does this mean doing something entirely different? (Like going from a split to a push/pull workout) Or just changing something simple such as changing the order you do your exercises (EX: Starting with flat bench press for 3 weeks, and then one week start with incline dumbell, then the next week flat bench, then 3 weeks later decline dumbell, next week flat bench, etc..) Or changing up the sets (EX: Doing 3x 10-8-6 every lift for 4 weeks and then one week do 3x6 or 3x12, then go back to the 3x 10-8-6 I know its a lot of questions, sorry :P |
