shoulders

What kind of exercises do you guys do for deltoids? The only ones i know and actually consistently do are dumbbell and military press, i find that straight arm stuff feels odd for me.:weights:

Personally I've seen good shoulder development from upright rows, military press (standing of course), bench and barbell rows (posterior). I've done the occasional front raise and lateral raise but I find they're not as effective at this stage.

I pretty much use all of those Kane mentioned and I also like to use Arnold presses. I have seen a lot of good results with those. :weights:

why standing instead of seated military presses?

You can do both. But standing is more a fullbody workout. Sitting down basically introduces stabilization so less overall muscle is used. So you "isolate" the movement more to the upper body. With standing it really takes a lot of muscular control from the whole body to stabilize that weight overhead. You can ultimately lift more weight that way. But seated can help improve the press as greatly well.

You mentioned dumbells. It is definitely a good idea to switch to or use dumbells as often as possible with any movement you normally use a straight bar for. So keep that up as dumbells are generally going to be healthier for the shoulders. If you want to use dumbells for standing or seated presses don't hesitate to do that if your shoulders are healthy and stable.
