Yep. Unless you can't. Or really, really feel like you need to take off. Although being sore was never a good enough excuse for me. Your lower back probably shouldn't be sore from doing deadlifts. You aren't rounding out, are you?

If you just finished the second workout, you still have another day to recover. Even if you are sore (fatigue sore) you can still workout on friday.

Like Ross said, check your form and make sure you aren't rounding your back on the deads. Muscular pain is alright since, afterall, you are stabilizing with your lower back. Just because it isn't moving or contracting doesn't mean it isn't working, in this case I'd say that it is.

I have to agree with Ross and Kane. You have another day to recover and should be able to work out on Friday. Double-check your form to make sure there are no issues in that department and your body will adjust to the routine after awhile which will reduce/eliminate the soreness.

stretch your ass of to. that helps and if you can see if there is like a little massage school aruond your area or something. that will help with recovery and it feels great. if you go to a massage school there rates are cheaper..........around 35 dollars for an hour. getting a massage feels great when your sore. we can be totally different but it feels great when i get it done. just a little thought to help

Just make sure you're not doing static stretches before your lift. Save them for after, or off-days, etc.

Hi, im new to this site, been training for about 5 months 3 times a week.

Training Split;
Day 1 - Chest, Triceps, Legs, (Sometimes Bi's, depending how they feel)

Day 2 - Shoulders, Abs, Traps

Day 3 - Bi's, Back, (Sometimes light chest or abs, depending how they feel)
Ok, going from no squats and deadlifts to doing them with 25 total reps within 2 days of each other may be a lot for you to take. At least for a couple of weeks I'd go extremely light and work on your form. If your conditioning isn't up to snuff I'd address that.

IMHO, there's no rush. Another option to consider is a 2 day instead. Monday and Thursday's for the first few weeks until you can handle the regular schedule. You can lift while being a little tender, but if you're having enough muscle soreness that you're having trouble with the lifts and motivation as a whole, then I wouldn't bother going in.
