Totally individual, and depends on how consistant you are at lifting at the same time, day in and day out. I USED to be a night trainer. Ten times stronger than in the am.

After five years in the Marines, I trained my body over time to be it's strongest in the early AM. Even today, I cannot lift with the same strength and intensity at night as I can after I wake up. Nowadays, I much prefer waking up at 0300, lifting at 0330 - 0500, then start my eating schedule from the second the weight gets put down until just before my head hits the pillow.

So IME, whatever you choose, stick with the schedule as the body becomes adapted. Personally, I have a lot less stress getting the workout over with vs. having that storm cloud hanging over my head all day long worrying about beating the logbook.

^^^ There isn't a proven correlation there. I don't think the timing of the release has much to do with it so long as it's being released.

I train late and eat after on occasion. I get bloated and have a hard time sleeping sometimes. If I eat before bed, I take digestive enzymes. It helps a lot and they're cheap to supplement with.

Would't it be the other way around ?

According to you your GH levels are higher in the morning than they are at night , so wouldn't you be stronger in the morning.

But like Ross said .... There isn't a proven correlation there

Personally I am stronger after a nice sleep and a good meal (breakfast , Mid morning ). But since I'm a shift worker I have to do it when I can .
