I dont have a pull up bar and i need one for my workout plan, what kind of lift/exercise will simulate a pull-up. any suggestions?

you can get really cheap pullup bars that add onto any doorway on amazon.com. there's not really a good replacement for it...

Just make sure your door frame is strong enough especially if your a bigger guy....I obliterated one of my doors in college using those :)

Another option is just to drill some big holes in two pieces of wood and use some heavy screws to attach them to a beam in your basement. Then slide a bar in between...works like a charm.

Yeah, I have a bar like that at home and I love it. On the other hand, my taller friends aren't that crazy about it coz they are always bumping in the bar with their heads when they try to go through the doors, hehe.

yea. there is no substitute. when i was younger i didnt have one. so i got my hands on one of them pry-bars for breaking and moving old concrete (aparently) and wedged it into a tree.. i guess you've gotta have a tree the right shape thats strong enough. but that worked. :weights: i've also used an I beam in a carport. with just my fingertips and a neutral grip, it works once your grip can hold out.

you just gotta find something to chin from.. its the only way.. :biglaugh:
