wtf is going on????

It seems like every time I work out, I have been getting more and more tired, my diet hasn't changed really, I have been steadily increasing my caloric intake, any suggestions on what I could do? BTW I drink this stuff from powerbar while at the gym, its supposedly endurance stuff, although I don't really believe a lot of that.

TALO 01-12-2010 11:39 AM

how much sleep are you getting ?

how many carbs are you taking in ?

how long are you working out ?

iron_worker 01-12-2010 12:35 PM

Are you tired during your workouts or during the day? All the time?

Pirate 01-12-2010 03:04 PM

My carb intake may be a little off because I just started school so I am still adjusting to a different schedule and eating a little different but its not enough to throw me off this much. As far as sleep goes, I am used to sleeping less than 6 hours a night, I have done it for years and I have 10 times the energy of anyone else I know, and actually I have been sleeping an hour or two more a night for the last month or so. The tiredness comes after my first 2 exercises usually, no matter what they are. I have been a little tired throughout the day more but its not really that significant. I am usually running around like a crackhead, I have been like that since I was a kid and now I am slowing down to normal people speed. I am a tiny guy who is trying to gain so I only do about 15 minutes of cardio 3 times a week, in mid December I could do the 15 minutes no problem, I couldve jumped on and did another 15, but now its like after about 10 I just start slowing down. Also thinking about it, I am pushing myself harder than I used to but still...what do you guys think?

Pirate 01-12-2010 03:06 PM

oh and my typical workout is around 45 minutes, 60 if its a cardio day.

You will slow down with age , but if you want to be running around like a crack head again.....then go see a Dr.

I know B12 injections helped with my energy levels -

Pirate 01-12-2010 03:42 PM

I am only 22 though, and as of a month ago I was still, if not more, energetic like always, its just like that last week or 2 its like I have just been hitting a wall almost. Kind of like when you eat candy and your going nuts then need a nap 10 minutes later, its like that...just no candy...and its not right after meals or anything, I haven't really changed anything...but I just feel a tad shitty

Pitysister 01-12-2010 06:34 PM

how many days a week are you working out? the body needs recovery.

Pirate 01-13-2010 04:06 AM

4, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday

iron_worker 01-13-2010 05:03 AM

Did you recently stop doing crack?

id say possible overtraining? but your schedule doesn't look rough at all.

i know when i do too much my workouts start lagging and i am exhausted, so i take like 3 days off and i'll be good as new again

Hahahahahahahaha, no...drugs are no longer my thing....that was a few years ago.

And I first considered the over training thing but came to the same conclusion, I doubt 4 days, with at most an hour workout is too much though. I am going to drink a rather large cup of coffee and I am kind of carb loading and seeing if those two things change anything.

Maybe my girlfriend is drugging me and trying to kill me...?

ALPHA_XX 01-13-2010 11:04 AM

4 ainĀ“t too much, just tra to eat healhy, drink enough, eat a lot of vegetable and some fruit and sleep 8-9h a day, additionally you could add glutamine and ZMA to your stack to improve your abillity to recover

Pirate 01-13-2010 12:51 PM

Well say I added glutamine, whens a good time to throw that into my diet, I am assuming pre/during workout?

just buy some ON Gold standard Whey and use it as a PWS, it has 5.5 grams of glutamine :weights:

Pirate 01-13-2010 06:26 PM

Alright, so post workout? isn't that more recovery though?? I need energy during workouts.

aboutmuscle 01-14-2010 04:28 AM

You could be lacking in iron, best way to tell is probably see the doctor you'll probably have a blood test to check you iron levels.

Maybe try eating some foods with good levels of iron in it such as:

Liver.
Lean red meats, including beef, pork, lamb.
Seafood, such as oysters, clams, tuna, salmon, and shrimp, etc.
Beans, including kidney, lima, navy, black, pinto, soy beans, and lentils.
Iron fortified whole grains, including cereals, breads, rice, and pasta.
Greens, including collard greens, kale, mustard greens, spinach, and turnip greens.
Vegetables, including broccoli, swiss chard, asparagus, parsley, watercress, brussel sprouts.
Chicken and turkey.

Give these a try hoefully they might help.

Alright, thanks guys for the advice, I am going to the gym today and I will post on if my energy is still down...all I have really done so far to change that is try 2 eat a little more carbs...like this massive bowl of brown rice I just devoured....

Pirate 01-14-2010 05:39 PM

Still a little sluggish..I think I really just need to eat more, my diet has kinda been a little off. At least I hope that is whats the matter.
