Your #1 song in the rack
I'm sure most of us would agree that the squat is the single toughest exercise we can do. It's us against gravity basically... when you're ready to hit the heaviest set of squats, what is the one song you need to push you through the last grueling reps?
Meshuggah Destroy Erase Improve ,Future Breed Machine.
Last time I squatted I hit 495 x 3 and I was listening to Til I colapse by Eminem.
Usually listen to some kind of hard rap. |
^^^x2 on till i collapse, EASILY the most pump-up song I have.
2nd place goes to "the pretender" by the foo fighters and maybe "the messenjah" by POD. |

I generally rely on my own grunting and random throat noises to get me pumped up. haha
However, if I do listen to music to get pumped up it has to be *really really* heavy. Like some screamy death metal or something. (Which I would never listen to on a regular basis btw... lol) IW |
I like to go old school with Sweating Bullitts
Industrial Revolution by immortal technique.
I go with Clutch-Come on Mother******.Helps me throw it up.
I listen to Demon Hunter "Through the Black". When the chorus hits and the lead singer/screamer drops to a gruff voice and says, "I'll be waiting" it fires me up. I don't know why it works, I just know it works.
lately it's been strapping young lad with "fucker." some of their songs are so whimsical for progressive metal. and townsends skullet just makes it so worthwhile. :)
