Sounds like you don't need a week off to me.

Wasn't it 7 days? Of course you hit them with your back or whatever else, but people who exercise each bodypart once a week are always hitting stuff on other days.

I can't really make heads or tails of all this but it sounds like you don't really want to take a week off. Certainly just because your arms hurt didn't mean you had to cut them down to once a week. A muscle does not need to be fully recovered before you hit it again. Research has shown that recovery continues regardless, but after that recovery has happened, and you're waiting around for your week to be up, you could have been stimulating growth.

If you had a strong back workout, and you're itching to get in the gym, then it doesn't seem like you're overtrained (which is a CNS thing, not a muscle thing). Believe me, whatever reasoning you have for taking a week off, if you really needed one, you'd know it.

If you do want a week off, then take one. As was said before, it could have benefits.
