Default L-carnitine, CLA, chromium

Ok here's the thing, I've been taking L-carnitine, CLA, and chromium for the past month because I've read in different articles that each one has a positive effect on muscle and energy. I take 1 gram of L-carnitine on an empty stomach before I lift in the morning. I then take 1.5 grams of CLA after my workout and I take 200 mcg of chromium picoliinate 2x a day. My question is whether or not I am supplementing at the right times and should I be taking more. My goal is strength but I am trying to lose fat as well. Any advice?
