That really depends on you. Some really heavy and complex meal right before bed might be a little rough on your stomach and keep you up. Remember when your sleeping everything slows down...
Normally if you're going right to sleep you want something fairly light on the stomach. People use cottage cheese, for instance, as a bed-time snack because it's light on the stomach but is still a fairly slow digesting protein. On the other hand I can eat something like chicken breast and go right off to sleep with no problems and just the other night I gorged on a bunch of fried shrimp and hit the sack....so I guess it depends.
