If you can, find a gym that has a "pay per month" option. That's all I ever did. I suggest you send a CERTIFIED letter of cancellation. This means someone has to sign for it when it arrives. Some guy writing something on a slip is a good way for you to get screwed over with them billing you every month because they conviently have no record of you quitting. Pay the extra month and cut your losses or use the gym for that month...
