Default Peter Brock Killed in Racing Accident

Motor sport legend Peter Brock has been killed in a racing accident in Western Australia. Brock, 61, was driving with Mick Hone in a Daytona Coupe in the Targa West tarmac rally around the north-eastern outskirts of Perth. Hone has been taken to hospital in a stable condition. According to reports just in, Brock's car collided with a tree at about 1:50pm (AEST). The Confederation of Australian Motor Sport says it will conduct a full investigation into the incident. Brock rose to fame in touring car racing, dominating the Bathurst 1000 for over a decade. He achieved six Bathurst 1000 wins in seven years, including victory in the 1979 event, which he won by a record six laps. He retired from full-time driving in 1997. He was Australia's most famous motor sport identity and in recent years became a leading advocate of road safety. Brock was married with three children.
