re: getting back into it

Essentially I'm just looking for a well proportioned body, something I am not too confident in right now.
I definatly consider myself slim but yes the chest/pec/stomach areas have a bit of fat & arms/legs are pretty skinny.
I had been going for about 6 months and was seeing some results but not sure if I was doing things as best as I could. Not sure if i should concentrate on eating lots, eating moderate 6x meals a day, getting as much protein as possible, you catch my drift. I find Im pretty knowledgable but if there is somethign i should concentrate on in order to get a toned/add muscle all around type of body this would be great.
Ideally I can work out 4x a week at the gym and do not have any pre-existing medical conditions, sitting behind a desk and not much activity other than walking is about what excerise I've been getting lately.
