Was that family history of high blood pressure coupled with high cholesterol? Wouldn't be a bad idea to get checked out for a baseline. Whether eggs yolks are bad or good really depends on who you are. I don't think they are anywhere near as bad for people with cholesterol problems as they are made out to be but no one can really say.

I eat all the egg yolks I want and have my cholesterol checked a lot and it's always good. Another person could be in trouble with half the amount I eat. There are, btw, good fats in the yolk that could actually help. But the amount of these depends on the diet of the chickens. I'd love to give you a straight answer but I don't think it would be anything more than opinion. Some of the protein, however, is in the yolk. Up to 2.5 grams of it.

People have different ideas about what constitutes good carbs vs. bad carbs. Mostly it is about the glycemic index. High is bad and low to medium is good. But then people will say fruit is bad even though a lot of it has a med to med-low rating. Soooo.....you can look at the "glycemic index" stickies in the fatloss or maybe the nutrition forums. Also keep in mind that it makes more sense to consider the glycemic load of a food rather than just the glycemic index.

If you act sanctimonious I will just list out your logical fallacies until you get pissed off and spew blasphemous remarks.
