^^ I agree with TALO on the protein consumption before bed, but NOT the carbs unless its veggies. Not eating after 8 pm isn't a good idea unless you don't really care about preserving muscle mass. I've always been a believer in carb cuttoffs. Say 6 pm is the carb cuttoff, meaning from that point on through the night, it's only lean cuts of meat and veggies. Veggies only yield trace carbs, so they're great for a stomach filler. The reasoning is that sleep is catabolic, so it's always good practice to eat an hour or two before bed... And even more optimal to perhaps eat a slow digesting protein shake OR something like cottage cheese 30 minutes prior to sleep. I cannot sleep without my 40 grams of micellar/egg white mix and about 4 metamucil pills. In case anyone's wondering, the fiber helps slow digestion further allowing for a steady flow of aminos in the bloodstream longer from the protein.
