^^^^I understand what you're saying about the protein. But the fact is most people lack everything to gain muscle. People say protein, portein, protein and you darn sure need a lot, but protein is not the only thing that contributes to muscle growth, it's just what supplies the aminos to synthesize tissue. Leaving fat aside if you eat a whole lot of protein but not enough carbs and fats a great deal of that protein will end up being used for ENERGY. Make no mistake, it takes energy to do these workouts and to combat the metabolic fatigue that comes from it. I'm not disagreeing with you I'm just saying that adding a bunch of, for instance, protien shakes, to a diet that is severly lacking in calories is not going to automatically switch on the protein building process unless that protein constitutes a singnificant amount of calories above maintenance. Even then protein is not as efficient a source of fuel.
