That would be of use if you were already getting pretty much enough whole protein. Otherwise your talking extra grams of three aminos. Important ones no doubt but won't replace missing protein in general in your diet. You may as well use shakes in that case, imo. I like BCAA's and everything but you seem to be saying they'll take the place of protein in your diet. Doesn't make any sense to me.

You take in a huge amount of leucine sure it's not a bad idea but what your mostly going to see is a big rise in leucine levels quckly and then a whole lot of oxidation of leucine. No replacements for whole proteins. If I was really having trouble getting enough food in, failing on protein I would probably add casein and egg shakes before I'd bother with all those bcaa's. Of course you should be going for whole food but....

BCAA's or any other aminos should be viewed as something extra, never as something to take the place of. That is, if you want to be big and strong.
