To be honest, I wasn't sure that I'd be willing to keep up a journal, but the thought of not logging a work out has already saved me from missing a workout twice!

aah....u don say thanks to friends bro
as to the motivation, ill tell u 2 things:
1.) i used to be in the same shoes when i got here. i have to say: eric has been my guide through my journey from day 1 but i also want to add to that that this board rocks. give it some time. ur journal hasnt been visited by 0311, hrdgain, dave, kane, etc but sooner or later they'll drop by (hopefully) and ull feel more at home.
2.) if u want something REALLY motivating to do u should do what i do. i maintain a workout log (paper) and i have written this quote down on the first page which not only psych's me up before a lift but also makes me NOT slack off. here is the quote:
"All men and women are born, live suffer and die; what distinguishes us one from another is our dreams, whether they be dreams about worldly or unworldly things, and what we do to make them come about... We do not choose to be born. We do not choose our parents. We do not choose our historical epoch, the country of our birth, or the immediate circumstances of our upbringing. We do not, most of us, choose to die; nor do we choose the time and conditions of our death. But within this realm of choicelessness, we choose how we live." - Joseph Epstein
best of luck dude
