Besides diet my first thought is that doing beginner AND intermediate "for a couple of months" makes no sense at all. If you stopped progressing that quickly on the beginner program then you didn't run it right, or you didn't eat right, sleep right, who knows.

If you were then able to start progressing again on an intermediate template it is because the weekly format at first allowed a little more recovery. But the would be short lived if correct habits weren't conformed to.

So, what it sounds like is that your hitting the wall has been eminent from the beginning.

I would stick with strength. Post everything like Kane said and get a SOLID lifestyle plan in place. Then I would go for the beginner again and see if you can run it better.
