LOL, it's as black as "bro". Slang words always come from specific cultural contexts (in this case hip-hop) It's just that suburban white kids appropriate the stuff and use it way out of proportion. But I was only kidding. When white guys use it as part of their everyday speech to other white guys it's just language development.
I like it too. Another of my favorites is "agree to disagree".
