I'm curious about what you could have done to your back, for the chiropractor to tell you not to do deadlifts anymore? Is it irrepairable?

This is a little off topic, but I was on a forum yesterday where a dude told me that he doesn't recommend deadlifts, at least for muscle building purposes basically. He heard it from an old time bodybuilder. He said because of the amount of muscles involved and recovery time. Sounds kind of stupid to me, I mean the reason you do them "is" because it works so many muscles. And recovery time, well, you simply give yourself enough recovery time. If you rest enough, there shouldn't be an issue.
