Cool Protein and Creatine Help

I just started lifting weights at the beiginning of last summer and now that i have become a little more experienced and my results have been dropping off i want to start taking some supplements and becoming a more serious lifter. Right now I am 5 11, and weigh 162 lbs. I train each day lifting only one muscel group a day for 1 hr to 1 hr and 1/2, split into 5 days with one rest day in between. I do 30 min of cardio after each workout but rest on the sixth day before starting my cycle over again. What times of the day should I eat the protein and take the creatine, and how many grams of each should i take at a time? Also, how many grams of the protein should be from food and how many from supplements, or does this even matter? I was told to buy the GNC creatine monohydrate and the GNC protein powders which i think have 21 grams per serving in one product and 50 grams per serving in the other. If anyone knows a better brand or product that I should try your suggestions would greatly be appreciated. Thanx
