Because it overloads the top end of the lift. Deadlifts, for example.. I begin to pull the 365 lbs, then after a few inches off the floor all the way to the top, it gets heavier and heavier, topping off at 450 at least. Theory is, when I take off the bands, guess what happens? I literally blow past any sticking points.
