Yeah I hear ya. Strengthwise it certainly could. But one of the keys to this kind of training is patient plodding along and realizing the value of the investment you're putting in. The thing is that different people will see differing amounts of mass in the first few monts because SO MUCH strength can be seen from neural adapatations and just changes in muscle composition. Now all that stuff is going to pay off BIGTIME in the longer run.

But the reason I wanted to interject is because of those reasons I stated above. Some people, when comparing it to the mass they get initially from a split, if only looking at things in terms of two months, may get very discouraged with what they see as lack of progress. So it's important to know that different people will react differently but most everbody will gain massive amounts of strength and the mass will come along with it.

So it's very important, what you, Kane said about splits not being effective unless your pushing serious amounts of iron. And of course these full-body programs will put on serious amounts of good quality mass...and I mean a lot when compared to a split for a non-advanced lifter (which in reality is most people).

I like to be very clear about these things because there has been a lot of misinformation floating around. For instance when the Starting Strength first started making internet rounds it was being described as a "3 month program" and that "Ripletoe used this to put 50 pounds of mass on beginners". That's a little misleading (see reasons above) since some people might be on it for close to a year. But make no mistake, you'll get stronger faster this way than most any way and most will put on some serious mass.

If you act sanctimonious I will just list out your logical fallacies until you get pissed off and spew blasphemous remarks.
