The first one looks like Twin Peak's recommended "lifestyle carb cycling" approach. I like it and have used it effectively.

Make sure to match your training days to the high-carb days and your cardio days to the low carb days and you should be golden.

IMO, getting into ketosis isn't all it's cracked up to be. You can use fat effectively without fully depleting all glycogen. ;)
