I've seen that approach work also, personally I dont like it ... but thats just my prefrence.

And your right, getting into ketosis shouldnt be the main focus. I like the way lyle has the UD2 set up, and that has worked well for me in the past. but IMO at 198lbs you would be best served by using a CKD to drop as much fat as possible before switching to something like the ud2.
