Working out is what breaks down the muscle. Eating and rest is what builds the muscle. Just eating a lot and not working out can make you fat. And I know a good bit about being fat. I put on muscle easily, but I also can get fat easily. Being fat sucks.

Yeah, you can do some cardio to get in shape, in addition to working out to gain muscle. In fact, you should do some cardio so that you are in good shape. You could take maybe 2 days out of the week when you aren't lifting and go jogging, ride a bike or something.

You just want to make sure you have enough extra calories, so that you can gain weight.
