Again, as I said there is not government agency that approves medical procedures. The FDA is charged more with products. There are bodies that give opinions. Let me repeat this one more time. You are never going to get the FDA saying nay or ye to this. For that matter, contrary to popular conception, the FDA doesn't always hold back experimental medicines or products from those in dire need with no other options.
And I agree that the length of time something has been around doesn't necessarily mean anything. I am speaking about the inherant message implied by some of your posts. I am not saying you said one thing or another, but only that certain things could be implied by it. One of those is that old things should be thrown out simply because they have no evidence.
And it is not true that no valid reason has been found to use it. I just posted tons of them. There has been no studies showing long term results. That IS NOT the same as having a lack of reason. I have conceded more than once that there is not any clinical research that proves the long term outcomes. You are talking about SOME researchers however who are seeking to prove a negative.
As far as I'm concerned, however, there is nothing much more to debate as far as philosophy

If people are to make up their own minds then they should have info from both sides.
