Soreness is not an indication of the effectiveness of your workout.
18 months does not automatically bump you to intermediate or advanced. You could be a "Beginner" for years. What differentiates beginner, intermediate, advanced, IMO, is there ability to progress on a given routine. Advanced lifters won't get much from ripps, but beginners will get tons of growth...see what I mean?
