Default Best site for IM injections

Here's some IM injection info I found useful that some people may not be aware of or at least it's not very popular. I'm referring to the Ventrogluteal area for IM injections. It's the area on the side right below the pelvic bone there.

According to the searches I've done it's actually now the preferred site in hospitals and nursing texts, (even over the popular dorsogluteal site) some hospitals having forbidden all other sites (if possible) in lieu of this site. Much safer than any other spots due to a smaller concentration of nerves and veins. The main reason given in every study I was able to find is an almost total lack of problems.

I've just recently became refamiliar with it myself. I remember reading about it some time back but have never tried it until about a week ago. I can tell you it's absolutely painless. By far my favorite site now. If you're not using it I really believe you're missing out and it gives 2 more sites to add into your rotation to give that much more rest to other areas.
