I'm going to keep my journal alive to help keep me from becoming bored. I've got 12 hours a day to kill, 4 days a week.

I won't post my actual routine because I'm working with Ironaddict still. I've been with him for 6 weeks so far, and learned A LOT. Metaphorically speaking, I was basically driving in 4th gear until he showed me that I had another gear to shift with.. Now I'm flying down the freeway!

Anyways, it was brought to my attention that I have VERY good genetics lol, so I'm happy. Ok, here's my experience thus far.

The first week moving from what i was doing in the journal (westside) to the moderate volume (bodybuilder style) workouts nearly killed me. Picture having a powerlifter's mentality busting out 1 RM's hard and fast to doing something like DB presses for 4 sets or going from a 1 RM squat with a 3-5 rep heavy drop set to doing 4 sets of 6 squatting! I was given strict rest periods and TUT to follow which didn't help LOL! My first set of DB presses featured me using the 110's and pressing them almost at the speed of light. Probably took me 6 seconds to hit 10 reps.

After the first week, everything really slowed down. To be honest with everyone, it was VERY difficult for me to slow down my reps. Powerlifting for so long pretty much completely erased my mind-muscle connection. All I cared about for the past year was being fast and lifting heavy. Luckily, the second week went MUCH better, and I re-established my bodybuilder mentality I lost through the course of strength training.

After a deload week (a gift from God), I moved onto a strength phase of training which I'm very comfortable with. So that's where I'm currently at now. I came into this wanting to lose some chub and continue gaining strength. So far that's exactly what I'm doing! I actually gained A LOT more mass after six weeks since I increased my protein/carbs (being consistant!) while losing some chub. The workouts themselves act as cardio for me since I'm coming from 1 RM's and long rests between sets. It's actually a "no brainer" for me gaining mass since doing 1 RM's won't pack on the pounds LOL. Everyday is a challenge.

SOOOO, I'll be updating this bitch with some progress albiet a new RM or losing some bodyfat.

As always, comments/questions shall be entertained.
