I won't tell you what I do, lol, because I don't always do the smart thing. I'll tell you what you should do: Don't lift after giving blood.

I would at least give it 24 hours. It can take 24 to 48 hours for blood volume to return to normal. I'm not sure but I think a typical donation is about 7 to 8% of your blood volume. Hemoglobin can take up to three weeks to return to normal even with plenty of iron. It may not affect you and there is not a lot of research done and it ia mostly on endurance stuff. The biggest immediate factor is hydration so if your are going to lift you want to really drink a lot of fluids.
